Amid great expectations, Apple introduced its latest and most anticipated product: the iPad, a sort of oversized iPhone with the features of a computer. The U.S. multinational aims to revolutionize the computer market with your tablet.
It was the same Apple CEO Steve Jobs, the manager, in one of his rare public appearances to present the iPad, which he described as “a real product, magical and revolutionary.”
The iPad is a hybrid between a computer and a smartphone with a 9.7-inch multitouch screen that makes it a new platform for content distribution, including games, books and electronic newspapers.
At the launch, Apple described the different uses that can give the iPad, from looking at a map, read a book or newspaper, surf the Internet or play a videogame, making it a real threat to other peripheral products, such as game consoles or e-book readers.
In addition, the iPad will enjoy all applications created for iPhone.
The iPad, which takes only half an inch wide, weighs less than 700 grams, has wireless Internet access and a battery of 10 hours.
The presentation was made after days of leaks in the media and from a wide expectation, leading some analysts to joke that the iPad is the most famous table from the ten commandments of Moses.
